In the field of wear-resistant steel, steel grades such as NM360, NM400, NM450, NM500, etc. represent different hardness and wear resistance.
Specifically, the number after NM represents the hardness value of the steel plate, for example, NM400 indicates that the hardness of the steel plate is 400HBW (Brinell hardness). The increase of these numbers means an improvement in the hardness and wear resistance of the steel plate.
NM360 wear-resistant steel plate: This is a medium wear-resistant grade steel plate with a surface hardness of 360HBW. It is suitable for situations where wear resistance is not particularly high, such as equipment and components with mild wear.
NM400 wear-resistant steel plate: The surface hardness of NM400 wear-resistant steel plate reaches 400HBW, which has higher wear resistance and load-bearing capacity. It is suitable for working conditions with moderate wear, such as crushers, ball mills, loaders, and other equipment.
NM450 wear-resistant steel plate: The surface hardness of this steel plate reaches 450HBW, which belongs to the high wear-resistant level of steel plate. It is suitable for harsh working conditions with high wear and high impact, such as excavators, loaders, mining dump trucks, and other equipment.
NM500 wear-resistant steel plate: The surface hardness of NM500 wear-resistant steel plate reaches 500HBW, making it the top product among wear-resistant steel plates. It is suitable for extreme wear and impact conditions, such as excavator buckets, crusher hammers, ball mill liners, etc. in open-pit mines.
In more extreme cases, we can use materials such as NM550, NM600, or composite wear-resistant steel.
In addition, these steel grades also represent different chemical compositions and smelting methods, which affect the performance and use of steel. Therefore, when choosing wear-resistant steel, it is necessary to determine the appropriate steel grade based on the specific working environment and requirements.
